Inside Leicester City’s Copenhagen party hours before Steve Cooper sacking with Harry Winks dressed as Oompa Loompa

LEICESTER CITY players wore fancy dress at the party in Copenhagen on the day Steve Cooper was sacked.

The 44-year-old Cooper lost his job on Sunday after the 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.

He left the Foxes 16th in the table with ten points from his twelve Premier League games in charge, having replaced Enzo Maresca in the summer.

But just hours after losing at home to their former manager, a group of Leicester stars flew to Denmark for their Christmas party.

The pre-arranged trip was reportedly signed off in advance by Cooper – with the players given Sunday and Monday off before resuming training ahead of the weekend match at Brentford.

And they took full advantage with a night out in the hometown of left back Victor Kristiansen.

In a video shared by Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet, Harry Winks and Conor Coady were filmed at a party at the Museo nightclub on Saturday evening, which was reportedly also attended by Kristiansen and fellow Dane Jannik Vestergaard.

A sign was held up near the stars saying “Enzo, I miss you” – apparently referring to the departure of current Chelsea boss Maresca – prompting laughter from the footballers.

According to The Telegraph, Cooper fell out with Vestergaard, Winks and Hamza Choudhury during his ill-fated 157-day spell in charge at the King Power, with the former even banned from training at one point.

Then in a photo that emerged on Monday morning and is believed to have been taken on Sunday, members of the squad in fancy dress in the bar of the Villa Hotel.

Winks – who limped off after eleven minutes against Chelsea – was decked out as Oompa Loompa.

Danish goalkeeper Daniel Iversen dressed as Bob the Builder, while Kasey McAteer chose to go as Laa-Laa, the yellow Tellytubby.

Caleb Okoli and Stephy Mavididi were among the first-team players pictured, while others were well disguised as characters including Iron Man, the Joker and Mario.

The Leicester stars had several drinks on the table, including Coca-Cola and Sprite bottles and a can of Jamie Vardy's favorite Red Bull.

This isn't the first time Foxes players have traveled to Copenhagen to let off steam ahead of the busy festive period.

In 2015 the team headed out for the team bonding trip with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Spiderman and Mr Incredible all in attendance.

And it worked brilliantly for the Foxes as they came back and powered their way to an incredible 5,000-1 Premier League title.

But while they headed to Copenhagen nine years ago on the wave of their red-hot form under Claudio Ranieri, this time the side return to the East Midlands not knowing who their next manager will be.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is among the early favorites after his successful spell as interim boss of Manchester United, including two wins over Leicester.

Graham Potter and David Moyes are also in line to take over from Cooper, who has struggled to win over the fanbase due to his lack of clear tactics and strong connections with Nottingham Forest.

After Saturday's visit to the Gtech Community Stadium, Leicester will face West Ham, Brighton, Newcastle and Wolves ahead of a tough festive list with Liverpool away, Manchester City at home and Aston Villa away.
