Inside Petr Cech’s life: From switching sport to kids following in footsteps

Chelsea legend Petr Cech has enjoyed some unusual hobbies and activities since stopping football – but the wonderful game is still in the family.

Cech, who won everything with Chelsea during a celebrated 11-year-old Stint on Stamford Bridge, announced the end of his marriage this week.

It was a sad update of Cech, who fully lived with life.

The iconic keeper won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, Three League Cups, the Europa League and Champions League during his match days.

The career of the former international international of the Czech Republic ended in 2019 after four years at Arsenal, where he won the FA Cup and confirmed his place as a real Premier League legend.

The Czech legend returned shortly after his retirement to his beloved Chelsea as a technical and performance adviser.

In 2020, the former Rennes star was even included in the 25-man Premier League team of West Londoners for the 2020-21 season as goalkeeper and non-contract player because of the COVID-19 Pandemie.

But Cech's time with Chelsea came to an end in 2022 after the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly.

Between the sticks

The famous Schotstopper has officially retired since his shock emergency aid, but has remained active between the sticks … only in a different sport.

Cech crossed to Ice Hockey and played as a goalkeeper in his spare time for people like De Belfast Giants, Chelmsford Chieftains and Guildford Phoenix.

And he stays active on the ice rink while he is now playing for the Oxford City Stars in the Nihl South Division 1.

When he doesn't play with his hockey stick, he uses sticks of a different kind.

He has become an avid drummer in his downtime, often posting about his love for it on social media.

He opened about what it meant and posted for him: “When a sports career ends, it is not just the sweater that disappears from the pendant.

“The entire routine fades.

“No alarm for training, no weekend competitions, no team around you.

'And suddenly you ask yourself:' What now? '

“For me it meant finding a new rhythm.

“Music gave me that rhythm. Drumming kept me present.”

Footy-loving children

In the meantime, the two children of Cech follow in his footsteps in search of a similar football career.

His son Damian, 16, and daughter Adela, 17, currently play for Fulham as goalkeeper and defender.

Damian recently signed a professional contract with the Cottagers, while Adela also competes for the Czech Republic under the age of 17 where she recently made her debut.

Cech was depicted next to his boy when he put Fulham Pen on paper.

Split with woman

Also present was Cech's wife Martina Dolejsova, of whom it was announced this week that he was splitting.

The legendary goalkeeper and Martina Dolejsova, who were together for a total of 26 years, announced the end of their marriage, but insist that they remain best friends.

They were married for 22 years.

Cech was also spoken on public and is expected to appear in Clapham Grand in October.
