Germany International Florian Wirtz has demonstrably a choice of clubs in Europe, at least that traffic can afford him, and it seems that he has made his choice. The Bayer Leverkusen star seems to be committed this summer, despite talking that he could extend with that work himself until the summer.
Wirtz, 22, has been on the radar of Europe's top clubs since he had been on stage as a teenager, but his campaign that Leverkusen led to the Bundesliga last season seemed to convince European giants that he was worth breaking the bank. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City were the trio that the bank had to break.
As explained by Bayern Insider, city manager Pep Guardiola made a big impression on Wirtz during a phone call between the two, while throwing a move to the Etihad. Wirtz could of course have been the successor of Kevin De Bruyne in the heart of the Guardiola attack.
Although the deal is not signed, Bayern believes that they have the deal close. In principle, they have an agreement with the agent and father of Wirtz, who believes that a switch to Munich is the best step that his son can take. They have the green light of Hans-Joachim Wirtz and Florian Wirtz has told Xabi Alonso that he is not going to the city, nor follow his coach to Real Madrid, says Bild.
Although there was no strong indication that a Real Madrid bid was on hands for Wirtz, he is considered one of the players who wanted to bring in Alonso. Earlier in the season it was also reported that Los Blancos believed that Wirtz could be the perfect replacement for Luka Modric, but it seems that they would have their thoughts elsewhere.
