Inter blame fixture congestion for draw at Parma

Inter Assistant Coach Massimiliano Farris said that a followed schedule of the luminaire contributed to their 2-2 draw with Parma, while they opened the door to their Serie A title rivals.

Farris was on the touchline instead of Simone Inzaghi, where the head coach served a ban after he had shown a red card in last week's victory over Udinese.

Inter pulled 1-1 with Rivals AC Milan in the semi-final of Coppa Italia on Wednesday, and they go to Bayern Munich on Tuesday for the first stage of their quarterfinals of Champions League.

All in all, Inter plays eight games in the month of April, and Farris believes that the congestion of the fixed value has contributed to Saturday's draw because they gave a lead of two goals after the break.

“We come across difficult matches to physical teams and we know what the derby requires in terms of mental energy,” Farris told reporters.

“We recently had many heavy games and this time we didn't have the mental and physical energy to keep our opponents at bay.”

Matteo Darmian placed Inter after 15 minutes and Marcus Thuram doubled their lead just before the break.

But Parma hit back in the second half with goals from substitutes Adrian Bernabe and Jacob Undrejka, while the Nerazzurri missed the chance to clear six points at the top.

League Leaders Inter is at 68 points, four ahead of the second Napoli placed, who could cut the gap to one when they face Bologna on Monday.

The Opta -Supercomputer now gives Inter a 76% chance of retaining their title, with Napoli withdrawing them in 23.5% of the scenarios and Atalanta does this in 0.5%.

“It happened earlier, it is not surprising. It is a matter of mental and physical energy. We did not want points to fall, but this can happen. It is not a drama, we have come from worse situations,” Farris said.

“Now we are going to Bayern Munich and we will try to give 100% for this game. The last sprint will be great and we want to be there with confidence.”
