
Lionel Messi was on goal when Inter Miami Philadelphia Union defeated 2-1 to go the top of the Eastern Conference in MLS.
The icon of Argentina was absent for the qualifications of his country with Uruguay and Brazil because of adductor and dijing injuries, but was back with a revenge for the men of Javier Mascherano in Chase Stadium.
By the 23rd minute, Inter was paramount with a slick movement in which Jordi Alba Benjamin Benjamin chose Cremaschi, whose low center was coming home over the face of the goal by Robert Taylor.
The goal scorer was replaced by Messi in the 55th minute and the Argentinian superstar took only two minutes to make an impact.
Former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez slid the ball to the superstar in the penalty area and he slid past a few challenges before rolling a shot with the right foot in the top left corner.
Daniel Gazdag scored for the road side with 10 minutes left to set up a nervy final, but it turned out to be just a consolation for the Union.
Inter is unbeaten by five ml trips and are now on top of the rankings in the east with 13 points to their name.

Data Debrief: empty Messi keeps shining
It will be a surprise to absolutely no one that Messi remains a talisman for Inter.
Even at the ripe age of 37, he continues to scare the defense and has contributed three goals and two assists in his last four MLS matches.
His old Barca -friend Suarez also continues to have an impact and the Uruguay legend helped five goals in MLS this season.
With that duo -fires, Inter has now scored in 28 consecutive MLS competitions and scored 60 in that run.
