Former Spain International Jordi Alba agreed a two-year contract extension with Inter Miami that will go through the Major League football season of 2027, the club announced on Thursday.
The 36-year-old defender, who came to Miami in 2023 after an 11-year-old Stint with the Spanish giant Barcelona, has been a key figure in the success of the club since his arrival.
“I am happy to extend my contract because I have the desire to continue to compete,” said Alba in a statement.
“I felt very comfortable in the club for the past two years and I feel very popular with all fans,” he added.
“We have the desire to continue to compete, to keep winning and hopefully to win as many titles as possible.”
Alba helped last season with the beating of MLS's supporters Shield, where the club set a point record for one season in the process.
In Miami he has joined former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez, as well as Javier Mascherano, the head coach of the club.
