Inter Miami has activated Jordi Alba's contract extension, meaning the full-back will remain at the club for another year.
Alba joined MLS in July 2023 on a deal that lasted until the end of the 2024 season, which ended prematurely for Inter.
The Herons lost to Atlanta United in the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs last month, in what was a shock exit for Lionel Messi and his teammates.
Inter have now started preparations for the 2025 season – Javier Mascherano's first as head coach – by announcing their selection decisions via the club's website on Monday.

Alba is one of seven players to have their contract options exercised, along with Leo Afonso, Yannick Bright, CJ dos Santos, Ian Fray, Ryan Sailor and Marcelo Weigandt.
Cole Jensen, Sergii Kryvtsov, Franco Negri, Lawson Sunderland, Felipe Valencia and Matias Rojas have all had contract options declined, although Miami remains in talks with the latter.
Luis Suarez recently extended his contract at Chase Stadium, while Messi is already under contract until the end of next season.
