Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez shot a clear shot at his teammate Hakan Calhanoglu, with club president Giuseppe Marotta who confirmed his call to leave Stillaway stars on the Turkish midfielder.
Martinez had strong words for his colleague after the finalists of the Champions League in the round of the 16 of the club World Cup Bogen after a 2-0 defeat by Brazilian Sijdluminense.
The Argentinian, who was one of the two Inter players who hit the woodwork in the loss of North Carolina, apologized after the game after the game, but reserved his most strict note for Calhanoglu, which was associated with a move to Galataray.
“I'm not going to mention names,” Martinez told Mediaset. 'We are here to give everything, but I saw many things that I didn't like. I am a captain, I am the leader of the group, so I have to speak.
“The message is clear: those who want to continue to and keep challenging for important trophies can do this differently.”
Marotta had no problems identifying the target of Martinez criticism and said Dazn that the club and Calhanoglu, who have missed the game due to injury, will find the 'best possible resolution' for both parties, while she also expelled rumors that the 31-year-old has spoken a desire to leave.
“There are some assumptions, and some truths that I underline,” said Marotta. 'It is something that I always say that when a player no longer wants to be somewhere, it is good for them to be.
“To date, nobody has expressed such a desire.”
It comes after a difficult few weeks before the Italian side that reached the last phases of every competition they disputed last season, but ended the campaign -free.
Their most harmful defeat came to the Champions League final, where they members a historic 5-0 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in Munich.
After the loss, head coach Simeone Inzaghi left for Saudi Pro League Side al-Hilal. The Club World Cup offered new head coach Cristian Chivu the chance to make an early marking, but their disappointing display may already raise questions about the suitability of the inexperienced coach.
Martinez added: 'The coach gave us a strong push, even when we got out of the competition today. We have a clear message: everyone who wants to stay, must stay, everyone who does not want to stay here must leave.
“We represent an important club and have to challenge for important objectives.”
