Inter Milan has made contact with Manchester United about a permanent step for striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The 22-year-old is under contract with United until June 2028, but his future at Old Trafford seems uncertain.
Hojlund cost United £ 64 million plus another £ 8 million in potential add-ons when he arrived from Atalanta in August 2023.
But he has difficulty realizing that price tag and scored only four goals in 32 Premier League performances last season.
United wants a new striker this window and listens to suitable offers for Hojlund.
In the meantime, the Red Devils are constant discussions with Brentford about an improved second bid of more than £ 60 million for Bryan Mbeumo.
Inter, who were beaten 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final last weekend, were the most important scorers in the series last season but lost the title of Napoli with a single point.
Simone Inzaghi left Inter as a manager shortly after the defeat by PSG.
Inter is busy making Cristian Chivu their new head coach.
