Inter Milan, defeated by Manchester City in the final of the Champions League 2023, will be confronted in the last four
Inter -Held Benjamin Pavard called on his side to go all the way and win the Champions League after they had dumped Harry Kane and Bayern Munich.
Former Tottenham duo Kane and Eric Dier tried to inspire a Bayern fight, but Inter held in to set up a semi-final collision with Barcelona. Bayern -defender Josip Stanisic even pushed a bal boy in despair because it threatened to become ugly.
But two goals in three minutes from Hit Man Lautaro Martinez and Pavard in the San Siro were enough to keep the German giants affected.
Former Bayern Defender Pavard said: “We did our work very well. We do not set any limits, because we have come to that, we want to continue. We are an excellent group with an excellent staff that has been working well for two years.”
England Hero Kane will have to wait another year to go on European glory, even if he will probably end his trophy -dryness by winning the Bundesliga this season. But it would not be here for Vincent Kompany men who were without Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Jamal Musiala.
Bayern -Baas Kompany said: “We have to look back on the big subject before the matches against Inter. It was all about all the players we missed with injuries. I think we did well anyway.”
Kane's 35th goal of the season, only seven minutes in the second half, Kompany had dreamed of a comeback victory after their 2-1 defeat in the first stage in the Allianz Arena. But only six minutes later Martinez got his eighth goal in Europe this season after Joshua Kimmich did not succeed in removing from a corner.
Only three minutes later, Hakan Calhanoglu broke over a corner and the former Bayern Man Pavard got up to go home his first goal for Inter to release them two. An excellent loop head of former Spurs -defender animal shook the San Siro while giving Bayern Hope.
The Germans insisted on one third of the night to force extra time in the draw and to keep the hope alive to win the European Cup in their own stadium next month. A late chance fell on Thomas Muller, who will leave the club this summer, but he couldn't get it past Yann Sommer in the internet.
