Inter is grouped with River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds and CF Monterrey.
Zanetti said after the draw: “We are happy because we are in a competitive group and we will prepare as best as we can for all three matches. We have a very competitive side and we will prepare as best we can.
“The passion for football in this country is clear and this competition will certainly be watched by many fans. This is the first edition of this new format for the FIFA Club World Cup and will certainly allow everyone to see what level each team is playing at. I am sure all clubs will be happy to participate.”
He added: “The tournament will start when the competitions in Europe and most of the world have finished, but the players will be well prepared and doing a great job to arrive in the best possible way.
“Our group includes not only River Plate, but also Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds: nothing is ever given in these matches. All matches must be played with care and attention, also because at the end of the season we will see what form the teams will be in. ”
