Bruce Buffer once wound himself during the introductions of UFC Title Fights
In April 2011, the UFC returned to Toronto, Canada, for a PPV card with a head of its own soil Georges St. Pierre against American Submission Ace, Jake Shields.
With more than 55,000 fans present, UFC 129 was generally considered one of the largest shows that the promotion had applied – and all the way to that main event went swimming for Bruce Buffer.
“I go to the Octagon that night, treat the show as normal, go through the main event, did the curves and I go to Georges St. Pierre's corner to make my announcement,” Buffer explained during an episode of Fightlore.
“I always go 'George Rush' and George lungs out when I say that, and I am always Bunny-Hop backwards as a feet, or something … and explodes my knee.
“I feel that crack -noise and I got the biggest Pierre introduction ever because it was an introduction of pain -Georges 'Rush' St. Pieeerrre !!”
UFC cameras caught only a glimpse of buffer that jumped out of the Octagon on one leg, with the iconic announcer revealing that he had completely collected my ACL “with the bouncing.
Speaking via the MMA fans show in 2023, Buffer added that part of the reason why his knee exploded at UFC 129 was because he had only turned his only a few nights for the PPV.
The experienced voice of the Octagon laughed to have been what a rather strange scene would have been for anyone who looked at him at Cageside, just like Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields went toe to toe for good weight gold.
“I get a bag of ice cream, roll my pantal teat and I have ice cream on my knee – I look at two big warriors and the announcer has an ice pack on his knee? What is wrong with that photo.”
UFC hunter denies himself to be injured during the introduction of Bruce Buffer
If you thought Bruce Buffer injured himself during UFC fighting announcements, was rough; What about a hunter who might damage himself during his own introduction?
That unfortunate circumstance was apparently experienced by the popular heavyweight Chris Barnett just before his UFC 308 fight against Kennedy Nzechukwu.
After he had danced his way to the Octagon, Barnett's movement delayed at the pace of a snails only a few seconds in the opening round, whereby the temporary employment cabin initially became theoretically that Nzechukwu's low staircases had caused serious damage.
However, when showing the repetition of the introductions, the commentary team speculated that the injury may have taken place after Barnett jumped into the air to match the excitement of buffer.
Barnett later denied the claim that he had injured himself from the jump and stated that the whole story was 'fake news' and that he had hurt himself by his knee to hyperextents with a rotating hook kick.
'Beastboy' has not fought since that TKO loss.
