Inzaghi cautious of AC Milan after recent derby frustrations

Although Inter enjoys a much more successful campaign than Buren AC Milan, Simone Inzaghi remains cautious after a bad run in the derby's derby's this season.

Inter top the series A classification, Milan is in the ninth. The Side of Inzaghi is over a victory of five games in all competitions, while Milan has lost four of their last six games.

The couple will meet again on Wednesday in the first stage of their semi -final of Coppa Italia, which will be their fourth meeting in all competitions so far this season.

In the three meetings so far, however, Milan has won twice, including a comeback victory in the Supercoppa Italiana final in January.

Inter has saved a 1-1 draw in the third meeting in February, but bragging in the 116-year rivalry belong to Milan prior to Wednesday's game.

“We know that we had problems this year, especially in the first. The other two were in balance,” Inzaghi told reporters on Tuesday.

“It is a semi -final of Coppa Italia with Milan. It is a derby, there is a great desire to play an excellent match, knowing that we are confronted with a quality buyer who has created many problems this year, not just for us.”

Inzaghi is happy with how Inter did this season, held a three -point lead on Napoli in the Serie A and reaches the quarterfinals of the Champions League after beating Feyenoord. They will be confronted with Bayern Munich in the last eight, with the first leg that will take place next week.

“The goal was to get into the race for all competitions in April. We know that now the most difficult part is coming, but it is a source of great pride to be in all competitions,” said the 48-year-old.

Inzaghi said Milan was able to cause problems for every opponent, as they demonstrated in November in an excellent 3-1 win in Real Madrid in the competition phase of the Champions League.

“We know it will be a challenge to be played for 180 minutes,” he added.

“We saw the last match, the Derbies with us, the match against Real Madrid. It is a quality team that had some difficulties during the season, but in some competitions they have been worried. We have to be very careful.”
