Inzaghi leaves Champions League runners-up Inter

Simone Inzaghi is separated from Company with Champions League runners-up Inter, prior to an expected move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Inter was crushed 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the largest match in European club football last Saturday-the most extensive Scoreline in every European Cup of Champions Cup final in history.

That result has closed a demoralizing end of the season for the Nerazzurri, which at some point seemed to be at a high tones.

They were eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Rivals Milan and lost the Serie A title on the last day of the campaign and ended a single point behind Napoli.

After the final of the Champions League, interpresident Giuseppe Marotta insisted that the result had not questioned the position of Inzaghi and said that the club's hierarchy would meet their head coach to discuss his future.

However, reports suggested that Inzaghi was enthusiastic about moving to Saudi Arabia, in which Al-Hilal wants to attract a coach of a big name prior to the Club World Cup.

On Tuesday, Inter confirmed that Inzaghi was left by mutual permission, in which Marotta said: “On behalf of our most important shareholder Oaktree and the whole club I want to thank Simone Inzaghi for his hard work, passion and sincerity in today's meeting, which gave the mutual decision to give up.

“Only when you fought together every day to achieve success, can you have an open and honest dialogue, as we have had today.”

Inzaghi leaves Inter and has supplied one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia triumphs and three Supercoppa Italiana victories. He led the Nerazzurri to two Champions League showers, but they were defeated on both occasions and also went to Manchester City in the final of 2023.

In a message that was posted on the club's website, Bezaghi said: “The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a four -year trip, where I gave everything to.

“Every day my first and final thought was always about Inter. It was then answered with professionalism and passion by the players, leaders and all employees of the club.

“The six trophies we have won, including the Second-Star (20th) Scudetto, together with our Champions League trips in 2023 and only a few days ago, the living proof of how much my work was supported by a shared concept with my staff and each part of the club.

“On every difficult day, just like today, I think it is correct to repeat this sense of gratitude, even for the meeting we had not long ago. We were sincere and together we decided to close this wonderful journey.

“I want to devote one last word to the millions of Nerazzurri fans who encourage me, those who cried and members during the lows, and then laughed and celebrated during the six triumphs that we experienced together. I will never forget you.”

Inzaghi leaves Inter with the best profit ratio of every coach in their history (all competitions, because Serie A was founded in 1929-30).

He won 65%of his matches that were in charge of the Nerazzurri, which brought him to Aldo Olivieri (63.2%), Antonio Conte (62.7%), Jose Mourinho (62%) and Luigi Simoni (61.6%).

Inter will now look to appoint a new coach prior to their own club World Cup campaign, which starts against Monterrey in the Rose Bowl on 17 June.

Inzaghi's first match that is in charge of Al-Hilal will be against Real Madrid, in their opening group H-competition at the Hard Rock Stadium on June 18.
