Ipswich star Wes Burns collapses to floor in agony and carried off on stretcher during Liverpool clash

Wes Burns was worn off the field after a worrying injury during the Duel of Ipswich with Liverpool.

The Tractor Boys star, 30, needed a long-term treatment after a challenge with Cody Gakpo.

Burns went down in the 25th minute of the game with what is a knee injury according to Sunsport, while the medical staff hurried to treat him.

After five minutes of treatment he was replaced by Ben Johnson.

Burns played eighteen games in the Premier League this season for the team of Kieran McKenna.

He came over from Fleetwood to Ipswich in 2021 and played an important role in the rise of League One to the Premier League.

Burns played 144 times for the Tractor Boys and scored 28 goals.

Prior to the Burns injury, Liverpool had taken the lead thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai.

Mo Salah then doubled their lead in the 41st minute.

And Gakpo made it 3-0 on a stroke of halftime.
