Iraola praises Bournemouth’s firepower after Leicester win

Andoni Iraola claimed that Bournemouth's 2-0 victory over Leicester City proved that they have become a better-completed Premier League team.

For the first time since 2019-2020, Bournemouth won their last Premier League match of the season for the first time, when they beat Everton 3-1 from home.

Antoine Semenyo scored his 10th and 11th Premier League goals of the season to inspire the victory, which means that three Cherries Forward's double digits have hit in the competition, with Evanilson (10) and Justin Kluist (12) do the same.

Dominic Solanke was the only player who reached 10 or more last season and Iraola is satisfied with the variety that his team has shown while they end ninth place.

He said: “Antoine Semenyo scored, Evanilson scored, Justin scored, Dango scored above 10 or about 10 goals.

“It has been different than in recent seasons, where Dom Solanke was the most important reference.

“This season we scored more goals, but they have been among more players.

“I am really happy with not only with Antoine, but with everyone, because I felt that we have been offensive for most of the season.”

In the meantime, it has not been such a happy campaign for Leicester, who ended the highest of the three relegated teams but still ended 13 points behind the 17th placed Tottenham.

This season Leicester lost 25 Premier League matches (W6 D7). They have never lost again in a single competition campaign in their history (also 25 in 1994-95 and 1977-78).

The future of Ruud van Nistelrooy in the King Power Stadium is very uncertain, and the Foxes boss claimed that he does not know what the next steps are.

He said: “I still have to wait at least to have a conversation together about a future or not. You can't start planning for that.

“It is about seeing if there is an alignment and see if there is a possibility to move forward or not. From there I can make comments. I can't do that before.

“We all leave, including myself. Rest, evaluate, make observations about the season and wait and see what happens.”
