USMNT stars Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and Yunus Musah could also be in action in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final in Riyadh.
There is good news for USMNT and American football fans as Christian Pulisic is expected to return from injury when AC Milan take on Juventus in the semi-finals of the Supercoppa Italiana (Italian Super Cup) in Riyadh on Friday (January 3), Saudi Arabia.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea striker has missed Milan's last four matches after suffering a calf tear in the first half of the defeat to league leaders Atalanta on December 6. There were hopes that Pulisic would feature in the Rossoneri's final match of 2024 against Roma on December 29, the American only suffered an ankle problem after recovering from his calf injury.
However, the 26-year-old will now return to the team for the opening match of 2025, which will see new head coach Sérgio Conceição take charge of the team for the first time following the sacking of Paulo Fonseca.
Four USMNT stars could play in Juventus – AC Milan
USMNT teammate Yunus Musah should also be fit after recent fitness issues, while compatriots Weston McKennie and Tim Weah are in contention to play for Juve, so there could be four Americans on the pitch at once.
However, Conceição stated before the match that neither Pulisic nor Musah would play the full 90 minutes as they had only just returned to fitness.
Adding extra intrigue to the semi-final is that Conceição will face his son Francisco, who is on loan to Juventus from Porto, where he previously played under his father.
