Who are the hottest active superstars in the UFC, and how do you even decide who's on that list?

Big names miss out on the top five UFC merchandise sellers for 2024
From official fight sets to custom clothing, fitness equipment and rare collectibles; the official online store for the UFC sells everything a fight fan could ever want to buy.
But which fighter has sold the most in the past year?
Luckily, the Ultimate Fighting Championship just revealed their top five best-selling fighters, which are missing some pretty big names.
Coming in at number 5 is none other than the heavyweight champion of the world, Jon 'Bones' Jones.
While Jones may be the consensus GOAT and one of the best-known fighters in the world, with just one UFC fight in 2024, we can't say we're necessarily surprised to see 'Bones' ranked at just number five.
However, the fourth best seller of UFC merchandise in 2024 might raise an eyebrow or two: former bantamweight champion, “Suga” Sean O'Malley.
The flashy striker fought twice this year and in recent months there was discussion that 'Suga' was not as big a star as initially thought. Looking at his placement on this list, it's hard to argue that he is. It's still one of the promotion's biggest draws.
Dustin Poirier sold the third most merchandise through the UFC website this year.
Considering Poirier has repeatedly stated that he is coming to the end of his iconic UFC career, it's good to see so many UFC fans getting 'Diamond' quality apparel while they can.
The second biggest seller of UFC merchandise last year was BMF titleholder Max 'Blessed' Holloway – and we can imagine how sales skyrocketed after his last-second heroics at UFC 300.
And finally, Alex 'Poatan' Pereira is the best-selling UFC fighter of 2024.
With three title wins and three title KOs in just a few months, the Brazilian has become arguably the sport's biggest superstar aside from Conor McGregor.
Apart from perhaps the most beautiful merchandise of those five; it's also worth noting that Pereira has far more merchandise than anyone else: 109 items for Poatan, 80 for Holloway, 57 for Poirier, 77 for O'Malley, and just 45 for Jones.
Compared to some of the other big names that failed to crack the top five; Ilia Topuria has 45 items available, as do both Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev – with Conor McGregor having 152 different pieces of merchandise.
