Alexander Volkanovksi is better placed than almost everyone to predict the biggest fight of 2025.
Ilia Topuria recently left its featherweight belt to pursue a potential fight with lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, which is fresh from a quick entry victory over Renato Moicano on UFC 311.
Alexander Volkanovski was famous by Topuria when they met at UFC 298 in February.
Before that, 'The Great' was also slept by Makhachev in a rematch of their very competitive first fight.

A fight between Makhachev and Topuira was spoken in a large part of 2024.
In October, before Topuria Ko'd Max Holloway to defend his belt on UFC 308, Volkanovski gave his opinion about the potential champion versus Super Fight Champion.
The 36-year-old believes that Makhachev would be the favorite because of his more good round skills set compared to Topuria, which he gave a 'Puncher's opportunity' to get up.
“Islam is really good,” Volkanovski told Submission Radio.
“I think Islam is very fit. Islam is very safe, but again, Ilia is the type of man that everyone could turn off.
“So he has power in their hands, you know what I mean? Everyone knows that. You go in there and fight him, you know that is his chance to win. It is usually [bad] To always bet on someone if they just have the chance of a puncher.
“I feel that you have to show more to be a hot favorite, especially to some like Islam.”

Topuria that leaves the 145LB division means that Volkanovski will fight for the empty title on UFC 314.
Streaking competition Diego Lopes is the man who will be in the Kaseya Center in Miami in Miami on 12 April.
Immediately after Dana White announced their fight on Wednesday evening, Volkanovski sent a message to Lopes.
“Lopes is clearly a dangerous guy,” said Volkanovski on his YouTube channel.
“A bit of a different matchup than Ilia. It is clear that they are both dangerous hunters. Yes, I really look forward to it and feel excited. I feel great and I will only get better from here, so that's scary, especially for Lopes.
“I think Lopes has a very, very hard fight. He is a gamer. He is a great guy. I have a lot of respect for him. A very nice guy. I am sure he expects to go outside and win the belt, but I am sorry, size, that doesn't happen.
