Israel Adesanya admits he’s ‘finally a hater’ after telling fighter to retire at UFC Atlanta

Israel Adesanya says there is one hunter on the UFC roster that really comes to his nerves.

The former dual UFC champion middle weight crossed paths with many rivals during his title prevails from Alex Pereira to Sean Strickland to current champion Drica du Plessis.

That is of course only a fraction of the hunters with whom Adesanya has hooks.

Adesanya did not consider herself a hater until he turned on the TV on Saturday to watch his friend Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC Atlanta.

Adesanya had no love for the comeback opponent of Usman, Joaquin Buckley, a former middleweight who spoke an even bigger game after he became a good weight candidate.

Israel Adesanya confesses that he hates Joaquin Buckley: “He is so annoying”

Buckley's plan to eliminate Usman eventually failed Fight Night when the former pound-for-Pond Koning did a vintage performance over five rounds and Buckley checked with his Takedowns to win a unanimous decision.

Buckley spoke half fighting with Usman from the bottom position and later said that Usman was more concerned to get him down than he hurt him.

While he supported his old friend Usman, Adesanya expressed his aversion to 'Nieuwe Mansa'.

“I hate this n —, Bro,” Adesanya said about Buckley on his YouTube channel.

“I don't even use the word, but I hate this n —, bro.

“Something about him just f— —— I am annoyed.

Israël Adesanya could not stop hating on Joaquin Buckley while watching his fight with Kamaru Usman last night 😭

“I hate this N **** bro. Something about him just annoys me.”

“Like, literally, I just try to chill, talk, [then Buckley is] Like, hey man, we have to get this going … as if he is raping me every time.

“He is just so f – annoying. At one point I literally just walked away while he was talking.”

'Maybe I am just a hater, bro … I am a hater, bro. I understand now. I get it. I understand now. I will sip that 'Haterade', man.

“With retirement!” Adesanya said after Buckley was defeated by Usman.

“I am finally a hater. I understand it now,” laughed Adesanya.

Joaquin Buckley said that Israel Adesanya's career was “never the same” after he had revealed how he could beat him

The second largest middleweight of all time, Adesanya is on a losing slip in 2025.

Adesanya has lost three fights in a row to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis and Nassourdine Imavov of France, who eliminated him at UFC Riyad in February.

While he was on the Joe Rogan experience last summer, Buckley gave a breakdown about how to defeat Adesanya, and explained how to cut corners to land a KO.

“Once I gave my opinion about how I could beat Izzy on Jre, I feel that the Buddy career has never been the same again,” Buckley wrote to Imavov after the Ko loss of Adesanya.

After I had given my opinion about how I could beat Izzy on Jre, I feel that the Buddy career has never been the same 🤦🏿️congrats to Nassourdine, maybe we run back in the future 👊🏿 pic.twitter.com/liebcqvce
