Yoel Romero says that Israel Adesanya needed 'time' after losing

If you know Israel Adesanya, you know he likes to keep an active schedule in fighting. Adesanya was one of the most active UFC champions in recent memory and tried three title defenses alone in 2022.

The 11 -month resignation between his fighting with Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis is the only extensive break that Adesanya has taken in the UFC.

Yoel Romero, a former enemy of Adesanya, believes that Adesanya made a mistake by returning to the Octagon so quickly after his losses.

“Israel, he needed time,” said Romero about the losing skid of Adesanya. “He needed a little rest. I think so. He has to rest a bit because too much damage.

“But the problem is the UFC NO you give time. When the UFC calls you, you have to come because you have a contract …”

Adesanya has fought 18 times since the UFC entered in 2018 and the Octagon shared with people like Robert Whittaker (twice), Alex Pereira (also twice), Anderson Silva and of course, Yoel Romero, who fought and defeating a moderate decision in 2020-the last UFC battle.

Yoel Romero warns Israel Adesanya against hard sparring

After many wars in the UFC, the former title -Uitdager Romero is still fighting world champions to this day, with an incredible form on 47.

'The soldier of God' advised Adesanya, a 35-year-old veteran in himself, to treat training as 'therapy' while trying to return to the hunter he once was.

“Now he should not think about training too hard in sparing. He has to continue to training, such as therapy, to recover for the body. He doesn't need it now – too much spar. In my opinion for Israel he wants [to get] Back, he has to recover [his] body.”

Israel Adesanya suffered only two KO losses in his 29-Vecht MMA career, Nassourdine Imavov the second hunter to do this at UFC Riyadh last month.
