Israel Adesanya predicts Dricus Du Plessis vs Sean Strickland 2 ahead of UFC 312

Israel Adesanya has a long history with both men in the UFC 312 Main Event and he has made his expert prediction.

In just a few weeks, middleweight champion Drus Du Plessis will defend his title in the UFC 312 Main Event against Sean Strickland in Sydney, Australia.

The booking for the fight came as a considerable surprise, since Khamzat Chimaev Robert Whittaker passed on UFC 308, so there was apparently no doubt that he would finally get a title shot.

Although Du Plessis also stated that he would rather fight against Chimaev, the Promotion Strickland granted the resit after he had only gained one victory since their fight last January.

Israel Adesanya offers prediction prior to Dricus du Plessis vs Sean Strickland 2

Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya naturally has a well -documented history with both 'Still Knocks' and Strickland.

Strickland dethroned 'The Last Stylebender' and became middleweight champion in what was one of the biggest setbacks in the history of title fights.

Du Plessis' Last title defense took place against Adesanya during UFC 305 and although the Nigerian seemed on his way to win the title, Du Plessis scored the Submission victory in round four.

Now that Adesanya has spent time in the Octagon with both fighters, he has made his prediction prior to the huge resorting competition at UFC 312.

“I say, I say that Dricus wins. If it might be close by, or perhaps it is decisive this time, it will be a tough fight for both men, but I think I would give Dricus a lead in this fight,” said Adesanya. Mmajunkie told.

Earlier this week, Strickland du Plessis offered a 'Gentleman's agreement' to strike alone in their fight and not to shoot any Takedown.

The intention is that Adesanya will be present at UFC 312 in Sydney, since teammates are fighting with him and he will probably keep a close eye on the main event.

Israel Adesanya warns of a 'boring' run-up to his UFC fight in Saudi Arabia

However, before the former champion can shift his focus on the 185 pound title, he will first have to pass Nassourdine Imavov when the two bump into the UFC Saudi Arabia head event on 1 February.

This will be Adesanya's first non-title fight in six years and because his last few fights have all been held against old rivals, he has warned that the run-up to his fight against Imavov could be 'boring'.

“It is always good to mix things together, but again, this is just fighting. It will be pretty boring in the run -up to this fight for the fans who want things like that, but the fighting will be very exciting, that's the sauce in this, “he explained.
