Israel Adesanya told he should emulate Anderson Silva by former pound-for-pound great after latest stoppage defeat

After another stop loss, fans wonder if 'The Last Stylebender' should have his exit fight at this stage in his career.

Israel Adesanya has lost his last three fights in the middleweight division after his return to the Octagon on Saturday night in Riyad. The former two -time middleweight champion was stopped in the second round by Nassourdine Imavov in a fight with great efforts in the game for both men.

For many, this fight proved that although Adesanya is clearly still a very skilled hunter, he no longer needs what is needed to mix it with the top boys at 185 pounds.

It has already been pointed out that the City Kickboxing Fighter has nothing to prove in this sport after everything he has achieved and that is the attitude taken by a good friend of him.

Kamaru Usman says that Israel Adesanya should pursue nice fights at the moment

Kamaru Usman does not believe that Israel Adesanya has to withdraw from fighting, but he does think that 'the last style bender' should run the instructions in the future.

'The Nigerian nightmare' believes that his friend no longer has to prove himself against the best in the world and would rather see him exploring fun fights that the fans want to see if he will continue to compete.

In a recent episode of his poundcast from Pound 4 pounds alongside Henry Cejudo, Usman drew a comparison between Adesanya and Anderson Silva, the two largest middle weights we have ever seen in the UFC.

As soon as Silva's iconic middleweight title Reign came to an end, he never recaptured the belt, but he produced some more great competitions (although he lost the vast majority of them), including his war with Michael Bisping in London and of course his UFC 234 Main Event Showdown with Adesanya.

“For Israel, man, to be honest, he is at a point in his career where, reminds me that Anderson Silva came to this place where:” I'm going to choose a nice fight. It is a nice fight, that is a fight that I think will be great that people want to see that fight, “because Izzy has shown that he can still fight, he was still sharp.”

What fights are there for Israel Adesanya?

Israel Adesanya has been on top of the middleweight division for so long that he has already had to deal with the majority of the top names in the weight class.

The name that was thrown away by Henry Cejudo In response to the comments from Usman was Kelvin Gastelum in a rematch of their instant classic of UFC 236.

Usman passionately disagreed about the decline of this fight, but the fact is that middleweight does not have many exciting options for Adesanya outside a rematch with Sean Strickland, which he certainly wants to return at a certain stage.

This can mean a switch to light heavyweight, which he once tried before, where a well -known enemy is currently at the top of the division in Alex Pereira.

205 pound may not fit so well with 'The Last Stylebender', but it would open the prospect of new matchups for the 35-year-old.
