Can Lucas Chevalier (23) be set for a switch to the Premier League? The recent comments from the Lille OSC goalkeeper suggest that he is at least tempted by the idea.
Chevalier was present at the UNFP End-Season Awards on Sunday. During the ceremony he was named best goalkeeper in Ligue 1 for the 2024/25 season and was also included in the Ligue 1-Team-Van-the Year. This season, Lille is in the race to return to the UEFA Champions League and it is in this competition that the Young Shotstopper has done special. His performances in the competition phase led to great shouting for him to be involved in the attitude of France. Since then he has earned his first call-up from Didier Deschamps.
For a few months, Chevalier has been associated with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. A move to the Parc des Princes, however, looks less likely in view of the return of Gianluigi Donnarumma to the form. But that does not mean that a summer from Lille is not completely off the cards.
During the UNFP Awards, Chevalier hinted that he would be interested in a move abroad. “The Premier League? It is the most attractive competition. If you see Tottenham and Manchester United, they struggle with crazy players [in their squads]… I have left for my contract for two years and you know the president (Olivier Létang) (laughs). I have not had contacts, but it makes you think, “said the goalkeeper in a conference, transcribed by Julien Froment.
