Italian FA fines Inter’s Lautaro Martinez over conduct

The Argentina International had previously denied twice with the help of blasphemous language during the 1-0 defeat in Turin in February.

Martinez has now agreed to a fine of € 5,000 (£ 4,200) in a pleid agreement with the Figc, which forbids to take the name of the Lord in vain.

“I try to teach my children respect, these accusations have caused me great irritation,” he said.

Martinez is not the first player to be punished under the anti-flower regulations of the Figc; In March 2021, goalkeeper legend Gianluigi Buffon received a prohibition of one match to be caught using dirty language against Juventus teammate Manolo Portanova.
