Riccardo Calafiori will miss the second stage of the Italian Nations League quarterfinals against Germany on Sunday after a knee injury.
The right back was forced in the stopping time in the 2-1 defeat on Thursday 2-1 first pipes after slipping while changing the direction and the treatment required.
As such, it will not be available for the return change in Dortmund, where the Italian football club (Figc) confirms that it has returned to Arsenal to undergo more tests.
“Riccardo Calafiori, who has undergone tests this morning for the sprain contusion trauma in his left knee that was contracted during the match against Germany, is considered not available for the return match for Sunday and will return to his home club,” said a FIGC statement.

Early reports suggest that Calafiori could miss between two and three weeks of action after the suffering of the tension in his knee.
That could see him miss at least three games for Arsenal, including Premier League matches against Fulham and Everton, as well as their Champions League quarterfinals first stage against Real Madrid.
Calafiori has already missed 15 games for the Gunners in all competitions this season, in his first campaign since he came to Bologna at the start of the campaign.
Italy is also without Mateo Retegui. The striker withdrew from the team due to an injury before the first stage.
