Gabriel's wife Gabrielle Figueiredo has given an update about the injury of the Arsenal star.
The Brazilian, 27, went down to hold his hamstring for barely 15 minutes in the 2-1 victory from his side on Fulham on Tuesday evening.
After receiving a treatment on the field, the middle behind his head shook while he was limping.
His wife Gabrielle lived on Wednesday afternoon a screening at Amazon Prime videos Married to the Game season Two.
The show follows a selection of Premier League stars and their wives, including Gabriel's Arsenal teammate Jorginho.
While he spoke to the post during the event, Gabrielle was asked how it can be difficult for the families of players when they go to the field due to problems.
She said: “It's difficult. I think the perfect example is now, because he was injured yesterday.
“So that's why he is not here with me today. He would like to be here here. I would love to be here with him.
“Yesterday we received the news that he was injured, and now he is with the doctor who has scans.
“So this is real life, and we never expected anything like that.”
About how she supports her husband in times of adversity, Gabrielle added: “I think all we can do is together and be the certainty for each other.
“That is the thing that I (will) do when I come home today. And yes, it's not easy, but we do our best to create this band together every day, at every difficult moment.”
In addition to Gabriel, Arsenal also lost Jurrien Timber to injuries during the victory over Fulham.
Asked for the couple after the game, Baas Mikel Arteta said: “We will judge them tomorrow.
“Gabi felt something in his hamstring. We don't know how big that is.
“He had trouble with Jurrien early. He couldn't go on.”
Arsenal is now confronted with a nervous waiting for further updates prior to their Champions League quarterfinals first stage against Real Madrid next Tuesday.
In the meantime, they will travel to Everton this Saturday.
Gunners fans are stimulated by the return to fitness of Bukayo Saka.
The wing player of England only scored seven minutes in his return from the couch against Fulham.
