Alexandre Pantoja tells Jon Jones that Tom Aspinall 'deserves better'

A number of current and former hunters have expressed their displeasure against the current attitude of Jones, which indicated to retirement, but keeps the heavyweight title.

The last to give their opinion was UFC Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja, who admitted that the situation is 'sad' during a recent interview.

“Jon Jones is a very special hunter, everyone loves him, but what is happening now is sad,” said Pantoja.

“Maybe it's time to say bye. Tom Aspinall deserves this fight, we deserve to see this fight. It is not true that Aspinall is ready.

“Nobody is going to judge Jon Jones, he doesn't have to fight Asinall, but if he doesn't want to fight and he wants to retire, I think he should say goodbye,” Pantoja added. “I hope that Aspinall is still training and in the gym and he doesn't waste his time.

“Jon enjoys his life, and he deserves it.”

The reign of Pantoja is considerably different from Jones', because 'The Cannibal' has defended the flight weight title three times in less than two years.

The fourth of the Brazilian will hit Kai Kara-France on UFC 317 on 28 June.

Alexander Volkanovski shares the same sentiment about Jon Jones

The comments from Pantoja come shortly after a similar assessment was made by one of his co -ruling UFC champions.

During an appearance on the overdog podcast, Vederweight Kingpin Alexander Volkanovski also urged Jones to retire if he has no plans to unite the title against Aspinall.

“If you are the champion, you defend your belt – it's a responsibility,” said Volkanovski. 'You can't just sit outside.

“You have to be reasonably active. You have to fight who is there. If you have an interim champion, that's a no-brainer.

“I don't want to throw a lot of shade, but look, I know he has proven himself, everyone is:” Look what he did, it's fine. ” No, not really.

“Don't stop the division. I know your CV is incredible. You are considered the greatest of all time,” Volkanovski added. “So if you don't want to fight, you're just retired, you're ready.”

In his last comments about the situation, White claimed that efforts are underway to the Jones vs. Aspinall -fighting to take place, even and claimed that the American accepted it at some point.
