BARCELONA legend Ronald de Boer has lashed out at his old club for “cheating” following the controversial registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
Olmo, 26, made an emotional comeback to his boyhood club after signing a £50 million deal with RB Leipzig in August, shortly after helping Spain win the 2024 European Championship by beating England in the final.
However, the Blaugrana were unable to register the playmaker due to their ongoing financial problems. The same applied to 23-year-old Victor, who came from Girona in July.
That was until Hansi Flick's side lost Andreas Christensen to a long-term injury, allowing them to register Olmo as an emergency player until December 31, 2024.
Nevertheless, the Catalan giants were finally given the green light to sign both players after appealing to the Higher Sports Council (CSD).
The CSD defended their unprecedented decision by claiming that preventing the registration of both Olmo and Victor would cause significant damage to the players, the club and the Spanish national team.
That sparked huge outrage in Spanish football, with even club legends expressing their disapproval, such as De Boer, 54.
The ex-Dutch international did not hold back on his assessment and even claimed that his beloved club “can get away with anything”.
De Boer said: “It's very sad that a club as beautiful as Barca is still allowed to cheat. Coming from what I was before… playing with UNICEF on the shirt.”
“Other clubs play by the rules, they try to survive, but Barcelona can get away with anything, which is crazy. If it had been a company, it would have filed for bankruptcy.”

“It's ridiculous, it's become a soap opera. They just want to keep competing with Real Madrid, and they hate that Real Madrid continues to enjoy success.”
Several clubs, such as Atletico Madrid, plan to appeal the decision and LaLiga has started a legal battle.
This could lead to the CSD's ruling being declared null and void.
