Jack della Maddalena entered the pound-for-pound rankings of the UFC for the first time with his victory over UFC 315 and saw him climb all the way to the #9 place.
The Aussie announced his arrival in the promotion with four consecutive first round finish before he got his hand in back-to-back-split decisions.
The victory of Della Maddalena over Gilbert Burns at UFC 299 confirmed him as a title candidate, but it raised some questions after he had gathered to secure a victory of the coming behind.
He was able to answer many of those doubts with his performance at the Bell Center in Montreal, where 'JDM' Belal Muhammad decreases in his first defending defense.
Coming on #9 means that the new Weltergege champion has overtaken various remarkable names in the list, including two UFC champions and one BMF.
Della Maddalena is now above flying weight champion Alexandre Pantoja, Interim heavyweight title holder Tom Aspinall, Max Holloway, Muhammad, Sean O'Malley and Charles Oliveira.
Arman Tsarukyan has fallen from the top 15 with the teammate of the new champion, Alexander Volkanovski, who goes up two places.
Many fans specifically referred to Della Maddalena who caught up Pantoja in their reactions, whereby the flight weight champion successfully defends his title three times since July 2020.
Daniel Cormier recently mentioned Pantoja and della Maddalena, on his list of the top five of the most undervalued hunters on the Roster.

The controversial victory of Aiemann Zahabi on Jose Aldo has seen the in-form-avoiding four places climb to the #11 ranking order in the Bantam weight division, while his legendary opponent left the top 15 after his retirement.
Most movement came in the women's fly division where Valentina defeated Shevchenko Manon Fiorot to stay at the very top.
There were two other large versions of contenders on 125 pounds on 10 May with Natalia Silva and Jasmine Jasudavicius who deserved victories on former champions.
Silva is now arranged as the #1 competition in the division with Jasudavicius who climbs three places to #6.
