On 10 May in Montreal, a new Weltergegewet champion was crowned after Jack della Maddalena continued his wintreak.
Della Maddalena defeated Belal Muhammad in five rounds at UFC 315, where the Scorecards were all in his favor.
That did not stop some of the champion who deserved the victory, which made Della Maddalena back on social media.
Many fans believed that the challenger was in clear control over the fight, but the jury members saw it differently with the fight that came to the fifth round on two of the cards.
Jon Anik even encouraged this result to suggest open score so that both men can change their approaches in the last phases after they realized how close the game was.

The coach of Jack della Maddalena says he believed they were sailing for a victory before the score cards were revealed
After the title victory of his hunter, the coach Ben Vickers of Jack della Maddalena eventually went viral for the advice he gave to the challenger before the fifth round.
His expletively filled speech to 'JDM' was essentially that he said he would continue to push, but does not take unnecessary risks.
Vickers used very different words, but the core idea of the message was to keep going to Belal Muhammad, as if they had already done four rounds to see the fight.
Vickers spoke about the reaction to this clip in a recent interview with Submission Radio, where he stated that he gave this advice to Della Maddalena because he believed that there was no way at that time they could lose the fight unless they were ready.
“Well, I was actually convinced that Jack was honestly was 4-0. So it could have gone wrong. I really looked at the fight a few times, I was really stunned by the score. I thought we were cruising. I meaning that I thought he had lost the fourth, it was a Close round.
Fortunately the challenger won the fifth round, but it could have been very different if Della Maddalena had taken his foot off the gas assuming that the belt was already secured.
“Normally I am a pessimistic corner man, but I was convinced that he was sailing and everything he had to do was not stopping and we know that Belal could not stop a bus at a bus stop. So I just didn't want him to do something stupid because I know he loves a finish.
“It turned out that it was 2-2 the last. I don't think Jack needed some encouragement, but the fact that he got it was probably a good thing.”

With everything to play for in the fifth and final round, Belal Muhammad could have retained the title of Welterweight after an important series.
The champion secured one of his three Takedowns 90 seconds in De Ronde and he immediately started working with a lot of octagon space to play with.
A little more than a minute later, Della Maddalena was able to push Mohammed away from him and get up again where he won the rest of the round with his striking.
Had 'remembered the name' was able to check 'JDM' on the ground for most of the fifth round, the entire aftermath of UFC 315 could have changed.
