Celtic has signed Centrum-Back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on a seasonal-hose Loan from Manchester City.
The 19-year-old, who made six senior performances for the last term of the city, will be the seventh summer signature of Brendan Rodgers.
Simpson-Pusey, an international under-18 international under the age of 18, captain of the victory in the FA Youth Cup final of 2024 and was brought to the first team last season by manager Pep Guardiola when injuries hit his senior players.
He started in the Premier League and Champions League last season, but was not involved at the first team level from January and ended the campaign-leading city in Premier League 2 for a play-off last victory over Southampton.
“He is a young player I feel can come to this area and really support us,” Rodgers told Sky Sports News.
“With the number of games we play, we need a number of center halves and he is one that fits his profile and attributes how we play.
“He has a good pace, he is primarily a good defender, but he can also play football because you have to be able to build the game from behind and have to continue the game and he can.
“I think he will participate in the rest of the team. Like I said, he is a young player, he has had a number of senior games, not much with Man City, but he has had a number of senior games.
'He has had the confidence of Pep [Guardiola] To bring him in and now he comes here for a year and continues that education in a huge club. “
