Jake Paul advised to avoid Daniel Dubois ’embarrassment’ by retired fighter who hijacked Mike Tyson press conference

Jake Paul has been warned against fighting Daniel Dubois.

The YouTuber turned boxer recently leaked a direct message from Dubois, offering him the chance to fight for the IBF heavyweight title he defended by knocking out Anthony Joshua in September.

Jake Paul has been inundated with callouts from world boxing champion since beating 58-year-old ring legend Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Texas last Friday.

The 27-year-old appears to be out of contention as he faces a current heavyweight champion in his next fight, but former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew insists facing Dubois would be a serious mistake.

Tony Bellew predicts Daniel Dubois vs. Jake Paul

Bellew hasn't fought since being knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk in 2018, but he's still a staple of the boxing scene, which Paul has transformed dramatically in recent years.

'The Bomber' doesn't shy away from criticizing Paul for his opponent's choices, but he believes the internet celebrity is going too far by considering a fight with Dubois.

“I know the boy has a great imagination, but I don't know what planet he is on,” Bellew told talkSPORT. “He must have been on Mars or somewhere else to even think about something like that. It couldn't be punished anyway.

“We saw an old Mike Tyson on Friday night and I was heartbroken watching it… Dubois is on a whole new level. Dubois is one of the best heavyweights in the world. He would knock out Jake Paul with a jab.

“Believe me, I'm not messing around. It would just be a shame.”

Tony Bellew hijacked the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson press event

Bellew played an unlikely role during fight week between Paul and Tyson.

The 41-year-old Englishman made a shocking appearance at a pre-fight press conference two days before the controversial clash which attracted 60 viewers to Netflix.

It's become a running joke that Paul fights old people, and Bellew has taken that joke to the next level by wheeling out an extremely older man and offering him as an opponent.

“Jake Paul, the biggest clown in boxing,” he began.

'If Mike lets you live [Friday] tonight, I have your next opponent here for you, Jake. If Mike lets him survive, I have a great-grandfather – not a grandfather.

'This man has two new hips, he is 107 [years old]he's a great-grandfather, so he's there for you. Give this guy a chance. Come on, Jake.'

Bellew's joke was not an immediate hit. The Creed star's microphone wasn't powerful enough to reach the stage, so press conference host Ariel Helwani spent most of the speech asking, “Is that Tony Bellew?”

Bellew and his friend were quickly ejected from the venue, but his stunt went viral shortly afterwards and it seemed Paul wanted a much younger man as his next dance partner.
