Jake Paul beats out Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor for most viewed Instagram reels of 2024

Jake Paul's viral clip mocking his weight gain became the most viewed on Instagram this year.

The controversial YouTuber turned boxer beat off competition from the likes of Conor McGregor and Cristiano Ronaldo to create the most viral moment of the year. In his video, Paul joked about comments about the weight he had to carry to fight Mike Tyson.

Although Paul only has 28.7 million followers, compared to McGregor's 47 million and Ronaldo's 646 million, he managed to go viral a number of times. He even took second place on the list with another video showing his arrival at the Tyson fight.

It was one of the biggest years of Jake Paul's career in 2024 as he continued his boxing journey with three major fights. He started the year with a knockout of Ryan Bourland (17-2) before announcing he would face Mike Tyson this summer.

However, that Tyson fight was rescheduled when the former heavyweight champion suffered a flare-up of a stomach ulcer. Instead, he faced Mike Perry, knocked him out and advanced to the Tyson fight, which he won by unanimous decision.

And all the while, he maintained his massive social media presence as he continued to spread viral moments. Perhaps the most notable came when he was beaten by 'Iron Mike' during their final weigh-in, which was covered in almost every major outlet around the world.

However, he actually had three videos that toppled that one due to popularity. He tipped more than 300 million on three separate occasions, first showing that he was enjoying a holiday after his win over Perry, before doing so again with his participation in the Tyson fight.

But the biggest hit was his viral video in which he donned a fat suit with all his signature tattoos and appeared to enjoy a huge McDonald's meal. The clip was viewed more than 340 million times, making it number one of the year on Instagram.

Jake Paul could face Conor McGregor next year if talks begin

And while Paul emerged victorious over McGregor on social media this year, it appears he could finally get his wish for a fight in 2025. The Irishman has claimed to have made a 'tentative agreement' to meet Jake's brother Logan Paul next time in India. years, but Jake's name is reportedly still in the mix.

Despite false reports of a $500 million deal for Logan vs. McGregor, Bloody Elbow understands that the reports of a possible Jake fight made this month are still true. The main issue seems to stem from Most Valuable Promotions not wanting to negotiate without direct involvement from the UFC.
