Real Madrid star angry at current squad status amid ongoing injury crisis
Eder Militao's season-ending ACL injury, suffered 11 days ago in the 4-0 win over Osasuna, means Carlo Ancelotti will only have Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio as his central defensive options in the coming weeks – Aurelien Tchouameni will return later this month , while David Alaba is expected in December/January.
Real Madrid still has a central defender, and that is Jesus Vallejo. However, Carlo Ancelotti is not counting on the 27-year-old at all, despite Relevo reporting that he has been a top professional in recent months.
In Ancelotti's eyes, Vallejo does not match the level that Real Madrid possess, and therefore is unlikely to add to his 10 minutes played this season unless absolutely necessary. The defender is said to be very angry about his selection status, although he continues to work on making a difference.
It is almost certain that Vallejo will leave Real Madrid next summer as the club aims to sign at least one new centre-back before the 2025/26 season starts. For the time being, he remains in the first team, but with few playing opportunities.
