The next big headliner from Jake Paul will see him accept on Gervonta Davis, and he is no stranger to finishing a 'tank'.
In 2018, YouTube star Jake and his brother Logan Paul accepted a callout from the Olatunji KSI brothers and Deji for a set of white collar boxing. Founded wrestlers and football players before the familiarity of social media accept the brothers and sisters, with the elderly opposite each other in the main event.
It meant that the younger Paul Deji had to accept, whom he stopped in the fifth round. Both men continued fighting, although the American had much more legitimacy and success. Deji was notorious against Floyd Mayweather in a 2022 and managed to last longer than with Paul.
Jake Paul defeated 'Tank' Deji in his boxing debut
Jake Paul's boxing debut came in the summer of 2018 when he took on his only white collar competition before he ran the professional ranks. He prepared for the competition while he was on tour with his YouTube group team 10, before he went to Manchester for a confrontation with Deji.
The structure was typical YouTuber rate, with the American range to put the fight in a park at a given moment, and both made several videos to promote a feud that seemed apparently from the sky. It all led to Fight Night, where the duo wore headgear and competed in six rounds of two minutes.
It was clear from virtually weightings that Paul had trained seriously, while Deji was not completely in the form of fighting. And that finally came to the end when after a strong start, the Brit struggled from about two rounds.
At the time, Paul had an unsolved issue with his nose, so he bleed heavily almost immediately after he had hit. Despite the meme-worthy moment, however, it was one-way traffic and the fight was thrown away after five rounds.
Seven years later, Paul will hire another man who calls himself 'Tank' while standing opposite Gervonta Davis in an exhibition on 15 November.
Deji then had an exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather
After the Paul fight, Deji went on a losing series that made him something of a smiling stock in the YouTube boxing community. Three years later he returned to model Vinnie Hacker and had to take a knee because of exhaustion before he was stopped after accumulation between fighting.
He followed that with a London Homecoming against Alex Wassabi, where improvements were clear, but he still lost a split decision in Wembley Arena. But when his brother Ksi launched Mollensboksen, Deji came back and landed a stunning knockout victory over Yusef 'Fousey' Erakat.
That seems enough to earn the attention of Floyd Mayweather. The box icon has registered for a Dubai exhibition with the YouTuber, which took place in November 2022 in the Coca-Cola Arena in eight rounds of two minutes.
And while Mayweather showed his class while playing everywhere with the social media star, it actually cost him longer than Paul to knock out while landing his finish in round six. Deji is also one of the few boxers that Mayweather visibly have Mark Mayweather, giving him a black eye halfway through the fight.
