Alphonso Davies’ agent opens up on contract talks with Real Madrid
The Bayern left back's agent spoke about the rumors surrounding a possible move to Spain.
Alphonso Davies, the 24-year-old Canadian left-back, is rumored to be on Real Madrid's radar as their latest reinforcement. However, amid the speculation, the Bayern Munich player's agent has come forward to dismiss the claims, stressing that no deal has been finalized yet.
Davies, often considered Canada's best player, did not join his national team during the November FIFA season, surprising many. His absence allowed Sam Adekugbe of the Vancouver Whitecaps to step in as a replacement.
Will Alphonso Davies go to Real Madrid?
Currently under contract with Bayern Munich until mid-2025, Davies' future remains uncertain. Under transfer rules, players entering the final six months of their contracts can freely negotiate with other clubs if an extension is not reached.
This situation has fueled rumors linking him with several elite European clubs, with Real Madrid emerging as the most prominent suitor.
This season, Davies played fifteen games for Bayern Munich under coach Vincent Kompany, providing three assists from his left position. On the international stage, he appeared in three friendlies against the United States, Panama and Mexico, but was surprisingly left out of the Canadian squad for the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League.
Nedal Huoseh, Davies' agent, has categorically denied any deal with LaLiga for the coming season. “Is it a done deal with Real Madrid? That is not true,” he told the media, adding further intrigue to the player's future. “Although Alphonso has many options, no agreement has been reached with any club,” he clarified. “A new contract with FC Bayern could also be on the table. Any reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate,” he concluded, leaving the talented Canadian fullback's future open to speculation.
