Jamahal Hill finally breaks his silence on third straight UFC loss with brutally honest self-criticism

Jamahal Hill knows that improvement is required after a disappointing night in UFC Baku.

Hill was one of the task to bring UFC Octagon Action to Azerbaijan for the first time in June. But 'Sweet Dreams' was unable to set up a show for the local fans.

Instead, Khalil Rountree Jr. Hill on the way to a comfortable and crooked decision victory, so that his name was put in a light heavyweight turn away again.

The former champion has since been left to lick his wounds after a new difficult setback at UFC Baku.

Jamahal Hill admits that he has not been 'at his level' for a while after UFC Baku defeat

While he is once as an undefeated hunter, 'Sweet Dreams' has recently become used to the feeling of defeat. Since Hill Glover Teixeira defeated the title in early 2023, the American has lost all three of his next attacks.

Returning from the injury that drove him out of the light heavyweight throne, Hill was brutally eliminated by Alex Pereira on UFC 300. Last January, the 34-year-old suffered a similar fate against his fellow EX-Camp, Jiri Proshazka.

The one-sided loss due to the hands of Rountree JR last month Hill drove a three-fighter-losing skid and is far from the title photo on 205 pounds.

And in the midst of that series of results, Hill has made a fair assessment of his efforts of the cage.

“To be honest, I have not been to my level. I've not been to my level for quite some time,” Hill said on his YouTube channel.

“I think people seriously underestimate the injuries that I have tackled.

“I went against a lot of advice,” Hill added. “For injuries I was a natural. I am a natural talent. Things obviously came to me.

“My work and my output have to go up. I have to do more. I have to work harder, I have to grind harder. I went into my last three camps, the lowest was perhaps 260 pounds … That is going in that work. I can't spend a camp with trying to make weight.

“In that respect I apologize to the people who have supported me. I have to be better. I have to be better with how I take care of my body.”

Jamahal Hill does not rush back after the third consecutive UFC against

During the same video, Hill suggested that fans should not anticipate him quickly in the Octagon again.

Believing that his premature return of an injury is incorporated into the cage in its losing form is 'Sweet Dreams' plans to fully cure before he walks again.

“For now I'm going to take the time,” said Hill. “Take the time I need to ensure that I can get my injuries (healed), can concentrate on my injuries, give them the time they need.

“I have not felt for quite some time. I have not been able to do the things that I like. I have not walked since the injury … That is something that has to change.”
