James Maddison has been accused of “doing a complete John Terry” after Tottenham had ended their 17-year-old trophy-dried.
Spurs defeated Manchester United 1-0 in a Nervy Europa League final tonight.
Maddison, 28, missed the game while feeding a knee injury.
He was wearing a smart suit and a white t-shirt while he came to TNT Sports for a chat for the game.
And he was noticed in the same outfit as the last whistle and ran on the field to celebrate goal scorer Brennan Johnson.
But Maddison found some way for a quick change when he appeared again for Spurs' Trophy Lift in his entire kit.
The act saw him compared to John Terry, who performed a similar trick famous when he was suspended in 2012 for the Champions League victory of Chelsea.
Maddison even managed to get hold of a medal, even though UEFA is OP and Captain Son Heung-Min received none.
But Maddison later admitted that he was told that he had to wear a full kit or not get a medal, even and even said: “I didn't want to do John Terry.
“I know I played a major role in the run -up and I earned this just as well as all of us.”
But fans still responded to social media and wrote: “James Maddison does his best John Terry impression.”
Another added: “James Maddison on Punditry tasks and then collect a medal in full John Terry on the same night … Is that a first?!”
More comment: “See that there was no medal left for Son because James Maddison, who was not in the team, did a John Terry, set up a kit and collected one.”
But the midfielder was not the only one who did it as a injured couple Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski also exchanged tracksuits for a complete kit for the trophy parties.
Maddison was accompanied on the field by his partner Kennedy Alexa and the couple shared a moving kiss.
He played 11 times in the Europa League this season and scored three goals on his way to Glorie.
