James Maddison’s children lift his spirits by belting out iconic Tottenham song

James Maddison shared a cute moment with his three Tottenham-supporting children while recovering from an ACL injury that will set aside to him most of the campaign.

The Englishman suffered a cruel blow during the preparations for Spurs for the season, after he recently returned to action after a knee injury had ended his 2024-25 campaign and forced him to miss the Europa League triumph on the side.

Maddison underwent an operation on his right knee earlier this month and is repairing what he described as the 'lowest layer he has ever had'.

But in his three young children, Leo, Delilah and Rome, there seems to be more than enough joy to heat his heart during his time away from the field.

On Monday, 28-year-old gave the cute example and passionately showed his children who participated in Spurs' Famous' Can't smile without you 'sing. The song, taken over by the Noord -Londers in the 1970s, is interrupted by Supporter's hymns of 'Tottenham' at important moments on the tune.

And Maddison's children turned out to be very familiar with the song, where every tendons are tense to eradicate 'Tottenham' after a little help from their old husband with the verses.

The interpretation produced considerably laughter from the midfielder, who filmed the performance out of his bed, with his wounded leg in sight.

It follows Maddison's heartbreaking admission last week after his operation.

Maddison participated in a collision for the season with Newcastle in Seoul and was trapped in an apparently harmless challenge on the same knee that had worried him last season – but the player was visibly tormented and crashed to the turf before he was worn from the field on a stretcher.

After his return to the UK, the midfielder was destroyed to discover that he had damaged his cruciate ligament.

The former Leicester star wanted to look ahead to the future, while he broke his silence on the eve of Tottenham's Super Cup appearance with a moving message on social media who expressed how 'cruel' Maddison thought his injury had been.

Sharing a photo from his hospital bed with his three children wrote Maddison: 'Lowest layer I have ever had. Heart broken about the fact that this injury has taken place in my career at the moment.

'With the Super Cup tomorrow, the Premier League season on the Horizon, the exciting Champions League campaign and it is a world year for England, it all feels very cruel, but the ACL reconstruction operation was successful.

'For all my good friends and family, your support and love absolutely means everything for me (emoji with white heart).

“To those of you who have done everything to report on social media platforms to support me and my recovery, even if we don't know each other personally, I appreciate you all more than you will ever know, so thanks (Welling-up emoji).”

But Maddison also had a message to his critics and finished his message: “And finally to those among you who doubt, hate and spot. You really motivate me to levels that I didn't know I had in me again, thanks (loving emoji).

“See you all on the other side (Power Emoji).”

Maddison's new head coach, Thomas Frank, spoke about his suffering because he was unable to do one of the striking signing sessions of Spurs last week prior to the European collision of the club with Paris Saint-Germain.
