Manchester City has again signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley.
City will pay £ 27 million for the 22-year-old, who they have sold to Burnley for £ 14 million in 2023, which means that this deal effectively costs them £ 13 million.
The reimbursement that corresponded to Burnley was originally worth around £ 31 million plus add-ons, but the price was lowered for the city because of a sold-out clause that they inserted into the Trafford contract.
Trafford has signed a five-year-old deal with the option of an extra year and will compete with Ederson for the NO 1-shirt under Pep Guardiola.
Stefan Ortega, who started 13 games in the Premier League last season, is expected to leave the club, but an exit is not near the agreed.
Sky Sports News understands Burnley interest in the player.
Trafford: I have always dreamed of returning to the city
In a statement from the club, Trafford said: “Returning City is such a special and proud moment, both for me and for my family. I always dreamed that one day I could come back to Manchester City.
“This is the place I call at home – it's a really special football club with fantastic people who make it such a unique place to work and play.
“I am also very excited and honored that I had the opportunity to work under Pep and with such a group of world class players.
“I am still very young and hungry to keep learning and improving – and I know that there is no better environment than Manchester City to help me become the best keeper I can be.
“I can't wait to play for the first city fans for the first time and will do everything to help you watch this great club to achieve even more success.”
