Jamie Carragher makes Mo Salah admission after being taunted by Liverpool star

Jamie Carragher admits he is now MORE confident Mohamed Salah will stay after the Liverpool star called him out on social media.

The Reds striker has entered the final six months of his contract and his future remains a major question mark. Salah was more than willing to discuss his future, claiming this is his last season at Anfield after eight years at the club.

The Egyptian has said of late that he is 'more outside than inside' and claimed Liverpool's hierarchy have not yet made an offer. Carragher has criticized Salah for speaking publicly about his contract, claiming that both he and Trent Alexander-Arnold should try to emulate Virgil van Dijk's professionalism by not speaking publicly or making points about their respective situations with their social media posts.

Salah duly responded to a video of the Sky Sports pundit discussing the trio on Monday evening, saying: “I'm starting to think you're obsessed with me”.

Carragher joked that he was obsessed with seeing Salah in Liverpool red and then claimed that the nature of the post gave him confidence that Salah would STAY.

He said: “That Mo Salah tweet there, that gives me more confidence that he will stay. He builds bridges, uses the winking emoji, he tries to get on my good side, doesn't he.”

Salah was again in the goals as Liverpool defeated Manchester United on Sunday. The forward scored from the spot to stay at the top of the Premier League scoring charts as he set his sights on another Golden Boot and the Premier League title.

However, he continues to launch attacks on the decision-makers at Liverpool, who, despite Salah still appearing to be at the peak of his powers, are still unable to meet the player's demands. Liverpool are understood in talks with the attacker's representatives, but Salah continues to speak out.

He recently said: 'There is no progress in that area. We are still far from any progress. So we just have to wait and see. The thing in my head is, if this is the last six months, what do you want to see? in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was worried or stressed about the contract?

“Or do you just want to say I had an incredible season? That's in my head. If I ever feel distractions, I remind myself that I want to look back and say I had an incredible season. That's what I want doing.” .”
