Liverpool -legend Jamie Carragher has revealed which team, according to him, most likely will challenge his former club for the Premier League title this season.
The Arne Slot team started their defense of the title with a 4-2 victory at home at Bournemouth on Friday evening.
Carragher is of the opinion that, although Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be determined to bounce back after he finished third last season, he wonders whether the City team is good enough to win the competition.
Instead, Carragher believes that Arsenal, who finished second in each of the last three seasons, will again be the best challengers in the city.
Carragher said about Sky Sports: 'I would probably say as a club as a team, but I just got Pep Guardiola in mind. He just doesn't win. If he does not win a competition title, I don't think he left for two years without winning a competition title. He is such a special manager, do you think he will evoke something?
'I also think that this city team is good enough to win the competition now? The team he had last season could not find anything to repair it and we always expect him to do that, so I would probably just be for Arsenal. “
Laverpool finished ten points free of Arsenal at the top of the table last season.
