Jarell Quansah sends emotional message as Liverpool earn latest financial boost

Liverpool's from its own Back Center-Back Jarell Quansah has become the newest star of the Reds Academy to leave this summer and to become a member of Bayer Leverkusen for a fee that could reach £ 35 million

Jarell Quansah has said an emotional farewell to Liverpool after completing his transfer to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could reach the Reds up to £ 35 million.

England under the 21 Center-Back Quansah put the finishing touches to his move to Germany on Wednesday, less than 72 hours after he had impressed in the heart of the defense, while the Drie Leeuwen retained the European title Under-21 Championship by beating the Germans in the final.

Responding to the movement on Instagram, Quansah said: “From the moment I walked through the doors of the Academy at the age of 5, I dreamed one day to wear the Liverpool shirt in Anfield. 17 years later I can now say that I lived that dream.

“For my teammates, thank you for welcome me, pushing and believing in me. I learned so much from sharing the field and the dressing room with such great people and will never forget the incredible memories we have had.

“For the staff, the coaches and everyone behind the scenes, your faith and dedication have always been a constant source of motivation. You helped me not only grow as a football player, but also as a person.

“And for the fans, your support has always been unparalleled. Whether it is in Anfield or from home, singing you to never inspire me. I will wear that wherever I go.

“Liverpool will always have a special place in my heart. It's not just a club – it's a family! This is for the time being, but I will always look – ever a red, always a red.”

Quansah made 58 performances for the Reds in all competitions after coming through the club's academy and picked up the medals of Premier League and Carabao Cup winners.

He arrived in the first team in the 2023-24 season and then played a key role under Jurgen Klopp in the last campaign of the German at the helm, but then became notorious about the peace of Arne Slot's first Premier League match that was in charge of the management against Ipswich Town last August.

Quansah was replaced by Ibrahima Konate on Portman Road and would not start a Premier League match in the centerback until the title of the competition was packed.

The sale of Quansah contributes to that of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher this summer, moving the Reds about £ 63 million from the sale of home-grown players, creating valuable PSR headroom for the club to pursue more summer applications.
