Liverpool continues to prepare for the summer transfer movement with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the road when his contract ends and many stars connected to Anfield movements
Liverpool goes into summer as Premier League champions after winning the title with a margin, but that does not mean that they do not need reinforcements. The Arne Slot team has protected contract extensions for Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, but other areas need attention – especially if there are more outputs.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has already confirmed his departure, with the date of his Real Madrid switch the remaining variable. Darwin Nunez could also continue, in the midst of reported Saudi interest, while there are questions about frills players, including Harvey Elliott and Caoimhin Kelleher.
Liverpool will take over against Brighton on Monday evening before completing their season at home on Crystal Palace on 25 May. Their point at home at Arsenal Last Time Out saw the Reds surpass the count from the last season of Jurgen Klopp, but it could cost more for them to keep their title next period.
Jeremie Frimpong remains the obvious right-wing target while Liverpool tries to replace Alexander-Arnold, but there are still questions about other areas. Frimpong's Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz is linked, but Liverpool is far from the only ones who are interested in the German.
The Summer Window is a marathon, not a sprint, but some fans of Reds will hope that some deals were packed sooner instead of being packed later. Here are the latest rules of Mirror Football around Anfield.
Frimpong's Exit message
While Liverpool remains connected to Jeremie Frimpong, the Celtic output of the defender has come into the picture again. The Dutchman was a popular figure in Glasgow, but left for the current Bayer Leverkusen club after just 18 months.
“I want to thank all my teammates for their help, the Gaffer for his confidence and the Celtic fans for their love,” he said after he had moved to the Bundesliga. “I will be grateful to Celtic forever and I wish you the very best for the future.”
However, the movement left the Neil Lennon manager of Celtic frustrated. “Yes, I feel a bit abandoned because we felt that we could continue it and we offered him a new deal that would have held him here for two or three years, but it was up to the personal ambition of the player,” Lennon said at the time.
Reds in Nunku Battle
Liverpool was able to make a surprising summer movement for Chelsea -forecast Christopher Nunku. The Frenchman has struggled with injuries during his time in West -Londs and the side of Enzo Maresca can be during the coming window in Cashen.
The side of Arne Slot, however, will not be the only ones in the mix. According to Foot Mercato, Premier League -Rivalen Newcastle and Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich are also enthusiastic.
Nunku scored 58 goals in his last two RB Leipzig seasons, but only 17 in two campaigns with Chelsea. Seven of those 17 have arrived in the conference League of this season, where the blues will get real betis in the final.
Alonso gives Wirtz verdict
Xabi Alonso has a lot of change from Florian Wirtz in Bayer Leverkusen, and it is no surprise to see suggestions he could add to the manager at Real Madrid. Alonso kept his cards close to his chest above the playmaker, who is also connected to Liverpool.
“Whatever he does, I am really close to Flo and I will be happy for him,” said Alonso, as reported by the ultrasound, calling the younger world class. “Let's wait a bit. It's normal in football that there are rumors, especially with such a special player.
“There were rumors (in the past), there are rumors today and there will be rumors in the future. You have to deal with it and not take them too seriously.”
