Jeremy Stephens returned to the Octagon after five years away from the UFC when he was defeated in three rounds for his home crowd.
Former Cage Warriors champion Mason Jones was given the opportunity to play spoiler and obliged after he was welcomed with a very negative reception. Stephens, on the other hand, was specifically reduced for UFC des Moines and received the biggest reaction of the night through the Iowa.
Jones returned to the UFC in the same way after he earned his place with a successful second Cage Warriors -Run. In the meantime, Stephens has emerged as a superstar in BKFC and even called for a fight by old rival Conor McGregor.

After his impressive knockouts in the BKFC ring, the announcement was that Stephens had an One-Fight deal inked for many after his victory over Eddie Alvarez. What the viewers were even more stunned was news that he returned to the UFC for the first time since 2021.
He had only won one split decision in the cage since he left the UFC, for a three-field-winning run in the ring. When he heard that UFC returned to des Moines, he contacted Dana White, who brought him back for a deal with one fight.
After he sent him a DM written by his wife, Stephens was surprised to get a message back with a fighting offer. “And yes, while on Tuesday evening I fly to des Moines, precisely while I'm on the plane, I shoot him the message,” he told Ariel Helwani on his uncrowned show.
“I am switching off my phone and I will spend the whole week in the Moines. I have not heard of him. I wake up at four o'clock in the morning on my uncle to go back home to San Diego, and I have a message from him in the morning.
