Jiri Prochazka reveals hilarious weight cutting mishap ahead of UFC 311 knockout win

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka had the best weight reduction in his career prior to UFC 311, but not for the reasons you would expect.

Jiri PrOCHAZKA perhaps won the most important victory of his career when he hit Jamahal Hill Knock-out in a crucial showcase match at the UFC 311 head card. In a 'Fight of the Year' candidate, as long as it lasted, PrOCHAZKA and Hill exchanged heavy blows in the Octagon before Prochazka sealed the deal through TKO in round 3.

PrOCHAZKA recovered from two recent title fights against Alex Pereira and remained in the light heavyweight championship interview after UFC 311. After his victory, PrOCHAZKA could possibly again have a chance on Pereira, depending on the result of Pereira's upcoming title defense against Magomed Ankalaev.

PrOCHAZKA is one of the most unique characters in the UFC, from his Samurai character to his unorthodox training methods. He is not afraid to bring himself in uncomfortable situations to strengthen his spirit for the chaos of fighting.

In his career of 37 fights, Prochazka has never missed weight and his cuts usually go smoothly and without serious health consequences. But prior to UFC 311, Procazka's sauna media made him exceed expectations before the official weighting.

Jiri Prochazka Outweed Weight Prior to UFC 311 Knock-Out victory

During a recent appearance on the Podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, Procazka shared what went wrong a few hours before he eliminated Hill at UFC 311.

“I thought I would do my best when I went to the sauna the night before the weighting and spent a long time,” said PrOCHAZKA. “I [put] myself in the sauna, and I was there for two hours. I didn't drink anything after the sauna and the next day I weighed 90 kilos.

“I was under the weight 2 1/2 kilograms. I tried to hide myself from the other boys [weighed in] And drank water because I spent too much time in the sauna. “

Somehow, Prochazka was able to rehydrate his body just under the limit for light heavyweight (204.5 pounds), without the California State Athletic Commission intervening. Hours later Prochazka Hill finished in one of the most impressive performance in his career.

Coincidentally, PrOCHAZKA has plagued a possible switch to middleweight before he finally hangs the gloves. But for the time being he is satisfied with fighting against light heavyweight while getting closer to a possible third fight with Pereira.

Jiri Prochazka is back in the title mix after UFC 311 performance

Before his knockout victory at UFC 311, Prochazka suffered a knockout defeat in the short term against Pereira at UFC 303, with which he only played the leading role a week in advance. The event had to mark the return of Conor McGregor to the Octagon against Michael Chandler before McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury.

PrOCHAZKA's Rematch With Pereira came only a few months after he lost in their vacant light-heavy-weight title battle at UFC 295 in 2023. It was his long-awaited return to the Octagon after a shoulder injury in 2022 abruptly put an end to his light-heavyweight title government.

Between the losses against Pereira, Prochazka achieved a wild 'Come-From-Behind' victory on Aleksandar Rakić during UFC 300. He also came to a rally when he won the UFC title Light Heavyweight during UFC 275.

PrOCHAZKA did his utmost in and out of the cage for his confrontation with Hill on UFC 311. While he is preparing for his return to the Octagon later this year, he will probably have to shorten his time in the sauna during his coming weight gain. Snee.
