According to a report from L'Équipe, Joachim Kayi Sanda (18) is about to leave Valenciennes FC for sister club Southampton FC (both teams are owned by the same shareholder Sport Republic).
The French outlet writes that an agreement in principle has existed between the two parties for several months, but only recently has a €5 million transfer (with VAFC retaining a percentage of its resale fee) been confirmed. The central defender has scheduled medical treatment. Afterwards, he signs a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League team.
Kayi Sanda (a French international at U19 level) is considered one of the most promising talents of his generation and L'Équipe write that consideration will be given to where he can best develop. It is not impossible that the teenager will be loaned out this winter, but he is unlikely to return to VAFC due to their current position in the third tier of French football.
