Joanderson Brito defeated a UFC title challenger on Dana White’s Contender Series to earn his spot on the roster

The dangerous Brazilian had to overcome his countryman to secure his place in the UFC.

On Saturday evening, the return of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with Lerone Murphy sees who wants to keep his unbeaten record intact when he is opposed to Josh Emmett in the main event.

The fight that Murphy called on to follow his victory over UFC 308 is not the only large matchup that takes place on April 5 at featherweight.

In the Co-Main event of UFC Vegas 105, Joanderon Brito of Brazil looks back to bounce back from a split decision loss the previous time-out when he accepts Pat Sabatini.

Brito has had to deal with a number of heavy tests in his career after he defeated Diego Lopes in 2021 before the Feather Waard Title Challenger produced a remarkable story to make his way to the top of the division.

Joanderon Brito defeated Diego Lopes in a great fight on the Contender Series of Dana White

In the first episode of season 5 of the Contender Series of Dana White in 2021, the Co-Main event saw two 26-year-old Brazilian fight finishers collide.

Many believed ahead of the fight that Diego Lopes was confronted with the better opposition, despite the fact that Joanderon Brito came from a first round about Chepe Mariscal.

Lopes had taken the fight in the short term and apart from an attempt by the arm bar in the first round, he could not really threaten with his dangerous submission game.

After two rounds with a high pee in which Brito got the majority of the striking exchanges better, the third suddenly came to a sudden stop after just over 30 seconds when Lopes suffered an eye -choke.

He was unable to continue, but despite referee Chris Tognoni who made a point, Brito came at the top through a unanimous technical decision of 29-28.

Five UFC contracts were issued that night, despite the fact that only four fights took place.

Azamat Murzakanov, AJ Fletcher and both Victor Altamirano and Carlos Candelario (who lost a split decision) were signed at the UFC.

When he announced the contract winners, Dana White said he had high expectations for Brito in the UFC before he said he was even impressed by Lopes in the defeat.

“It is clear that a very senior – ending to a great fight. The first round was incredible. I actually think that Brito may be one of the next big Brazilian hunters. I think this child is incredibly talented and the fact that Diego also fought this fight in the short term and the way in which he did, the last time we will view it.”

Diego Lopes did enough to impress the UFC bosses, even in the defeat

After he had set up a good fight against a talented opponent in the short term, the UFC Diego Lopes gave another chance to impress two years later.

He went 2-1 after the performance of his competition series, but another Putsy display against Movsar Evloev on UFC 288 was all that the UFC had to see from him, despite the fact that he still suffered a defeat.

The Instant Fan's favorite bought himself a chance to win a victory in the Octagon and this time he had a full training camp behind him.

Since then, the 30-year-old has won five in a row at 145 pounds with Lopes who now stand to Alexander Volkanovski for the vacant featherweight title on UFC 314 on 12 April.
