Chelsea has agreed a deal that is worth more than £ 50 million for Brighton Vooruit Joao Pedro.
The 23-year-old has agreed the conditions with Chelsea for a seven-year-old deal and will have a medical and fly to the US to participate in the Enzo Maresca side at the Club World Cup.
Pedro will be able to play for Chelsea at the tournament, because clubs can register players between 27 June and 3 July.
Newcastle was also interested in Pedro and had rejected an offer of around £ 50 million last week. It is understood that Pedro only wanted to play for Chelsea.
Watford, who sold Pedro to Brighton for £ 35 million in 2023, will owe 20 percent of the profit from this deal.
Chelsea is also about to sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund. Gittens will sign a seven -year contract with Chelsea after completing his medical. The reimbursement to sign the 20-year-old has been set at € 65 million (£ 55.5 million).
Gittens is not allowed to play for Chelsea at the Club World Cup after they have already appeared against Fluminense in the first group match of Borussia Dortmund.
